“Don’t be worried, we will address your concerns. Thank you so much,” President Ruto said.

However, speaking to Citizen TV, the woman who was identified as Purity Wangui revealed that she only sought KSh 400,000 from the president to help her son, John Kairu Gichohi to travel to the United States of America (USA).

“I came to president Ruto to assist me with KSh 400,000 to aid my son, John Kairu Gichohi who is traveling to the USA,” she said.

Wangui disclosed that her son is the sole breadwinner not only for his family but for her as well.

She said her son who works as a matatu taut for 2NK Sacco in Nyeri town has three children, two in secondary and one in primary school.

Wangui further revealed that due to tough economic times, her son is unable to fend for his needs and that the only remaining option is for him to look for greener pastures abroad.

“My son is a matatu tout in Nyeri and has three children who are sent home on numerous occasions due to fee arrears.

“My only hope is based on my son. He will go abroad and do any form of work provided he earns the funds necessary to help us here,” she said.

Ruto who had promised to have an audience with the lady is yet to meet her as promised during his speech.

“Politician, Mukami has assured me that I will get an audience with the president,” she said.
