You will not intimidate me, President Ruto tells Raila

Raila Odinga has been overtaken by Ruto as the most preferred presidential candidate in the latest opinion poll.

Kenya’s President William Ruto has asked Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga to give him time and work for Kenyans.

Ruto, without mentioning names said he will not be intimidated nor blackmailed to do what the opposition wants to be done but will do what is good for the majority of Kenyans.

He accused the veteran politicians of positioning their sons and daughters for positions at the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) adding that they should give the government time to create employment for other hustlers.

“No one is going to threaten and blackmail me to do what they want; I will do what Kenyans want. Many of my brothers have positioned their families in positions of leadership. Let them give me time to give the rest of Kenyans jobs,” President Ruto said.

The Head of State was responding to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka had earlier said that they were up to the task of executing their opposition roles as Azimio la Umoja–One Kenya Coalition Party.

Kalonzo who was speaking to residents in Ndalani, Yatta, in Machakos County over the weekend said President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government had no choice but to deliver on what they promised Kenyans.

The former vice president said they will keep Kenya Kwanza’s administration in check as they patiently wait for 2027 adding that he will defeat President Ruto in the next general election.

“This isn’t the same tribe of Kamba people who are said to be cheap. Nothing can now prevent Kalonzo from being president,”

“All Luos are now backing Kalonzo for President in 2027. We have to fight for the Constitution. I decided to step aside for Raila in 2022, now it’s time for Kalonzo to be president,” Kalonzo said.
