The youthful aspirant who made headlines when she was blocked from attending an aspirant meeting at Deputy President William Ruto’s residence in Karen has won the Bomet Women Representative nominations for the UDA tickets.

Taking to Twitter, on Friday, April 15 Linet Chepokori thanked the residents of Bomet for giving her the mandate to contest for the Women’s representative seat in the forthcoming August polls.

According to her post, her win represents the win for the entire Bomet County because of the belief they showed in her.

“We have WON! Thank you very much to the Residents of Bomet for giving me the mandate to contest for the Women Rep seat on the UDA ticket. I am a testimony to God’s greatness. God bless you. I love you,” Chepkorir Twitted.

Many Kenyans from different political divides took to Twitter to congratulate the young aspirant for having shown determination in her cause.

One random Twitter user Atito Katito said, “I am not in UDA…but I think this is right… Congratulations to the Bomet people for electing this young lady!!”

Another user Geral Bitok said, “I respect anyone who has the courage to dare. Today, I want to celebrate this lady Chepkorir, Women Rep Aspirant Bomet County. Keep the focus, dream alive and remember all the time, that those who ridicule have never achieved anything on their own.”

Chepkorir will now be looking to replace the current Bomet woman representative Joyce Korir who shifted her base to run for the Bomet central parliamentary seat.

During the drama at DP Ruto’s residence, Chepkorir was blocked at the entrance by guards who accused her of being an intruder.

The guards judged her demeanor and the casual dress that made her look like a schoolgirl telling her was not welcome for the meeting.

“Eventually, after about an hour, I was allowed in after I showed them my passcode to the meeting; electronically generated for members who have paid UDA aspirants’ ee of Ksh6,000,” Chepkorir said in the past interview.
