Ahmednassir Abdullahi: William Ruto will win presidential race by 66%

by Amos Khaemba
Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s ODM party has scoffed at those criticizing President William Ruto’s unending foreign trips.

Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has sensationally claimed that Deputy President William Ruto will win the August 9 presidential election by 66% of the total votes.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the lawyer attributed the bigger winning margin to the union between DP Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula.

The outspoken lawyer claimed, without proof, that opinion polls by most political parties and even by state security agencies have all pointed to a Ruto win.

“Internal polling by a number of political parties and even by a state security agency uniformly show that Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula in agreeing to work with William Ruto have pushed the latters’s opinion poll rating by 6% to 8%..from around 58% to 64 to 66%,” Abdullahi said.

According to the Abdullahi projections, it means there will be no a presidential run-off as the Kenya Kwanza alliance will win the presidential election in round one.

The senior counsel further poked holes in the effort by Raila Odinga’s team to woo Mt Kenya votes says it has beared little fruits.

“After all the noise, rallies and tens of millions of money spend, Raila has the support of 8% of likely voters in Central Kenya,” Abdullahi wrote on Twitter, again without any proof of the same.

The sentiments by Abdullahi comes barely days after ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi revealed that he joined forces with William Ruto because he was capable of defeating ODM leader Raila Odinga in round one.

Speaking to the media after a church service at St Faith Parish, ACK in Rongai, on Sunday,January 31, Mudavadi revealed that his decision to work with Ruto was the only option to avoid a run-off in the August 9, General Election.

“We want to take victory in the first round of the elections. Round one. Hatutaki kurudia, tunataka tushinde round one… Sasa kwa wale ambao wanababaika, waambie (to those trembling, tell them) those are the effects of the earthquake na (and) earthquake inaendelea (will continue shaking them),” Mudavadi said.

Recently another of opinion polls have indicated the DP Ruto is still ahead of his arch rival Raila Odinga if elections were held today.

According to the poll by Radio Africa Group done between January 5 and 15 2022, Ruto still maintains the lead having 46.8 % support of whereas Raila has 35.1 % support.
