President Uhuru’s message to Ruto as he walked daughter down the aisle

by Nderi Caren

President Uhuru Kenyatta conveyed his congratulations to June Ruto through her father, William Ruto as she walked down the aisle with her Nigerian husband.

After the prayer breakfast held at parliament buildings on Thursday, May 27, all roads led to Ruto’s Karen residence as politicians went to witness his daughter’s wedding to Alexander Ezenagu.

However, President Uhuru Kenyatta could not attend the wedding, instead, he told Ruto to congratulate the newlyweds on his behalf while promising to see them upon his return from Kisumu.

“Pass my congratulations to them, I will see them maybe after my visit to Kisumu,” Uhuru told Ruto on the sidelines of the National Prayer Breakfast.

June Ruto’s wedding was filled with glam, attended by private guests and several politicians from DP Ruto’s camp, and a few others from president Uhuru’s camp.

Non-Tanga Tanga politicians who were spotted at the event include ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, speaker Justin Muturi and governor Kiraitu Murungi.

On the other hand, the prayer breakfast was an opportunity for the Uhuru-Ruto duo to rekindle their old bromance.

After months of not being seen together in public, the duo warmed up to each other at parliament buildings, shared giggles and laughter.

This is despite the strained relationship between them as a result of the 2018 handshake between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Further division between the two was  caused  by the Building Bridges Initiative.

In the past, Ruto admitted that they rarely meet eye to eye with his boss, president Uhuru.

He said that he(Uhuru) had delegated his duties to outsiders such as Raila Odinga and CS Fred Matiang’i

Ruto admitted that their second term in office has not been smooth as the first one.
