Senator Millicent Omanga indirectly warns Uhuru after Jacob Zuma jailing: ‘Your time is coming’

by Nderi Caren

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has sensationally but indirectly sent a warning at President Uhuru Kenyatta after a South African court sentenced former president, Jacob Zuma to jail.

Omanga, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto insinuated that a time will come when Uhuru will pay dearly for defying court orders( just like Zuma has).

“South Africa Constitutional court finds former president Jacob Zuma guilty of contempt of court, sentence him to 15 months in prison. For those who are continually disobeying court orders because they are in power, take note. Your time is coming!” Millicent Omanga tweeted.

Her message came just after news that a judge had ruled on jailing Jacob Zuma for more than a year. The former President was jailed for being in contempt of court.

The Constitutional Court of South Africa ordered that Zuma present himself at a police station in his home town of Nkandla or Johannesburg within five days.

He was found in contempt of court after failing to appear at an anti-corruption commission to answer questions about his alleged involvement in corruption during his time as president.

Borrowing from Jacob Juma’s case, Millicent Omanga sent the indirect warning to President Uhuru for his constant disregard of court orders.

Recently, the President has been at loggerheads with the judiciary over what the latter terms as constant disregard of the court orders and the judiciary at large.

His failure to appoint the 6 judges out of the 40 that were presented to him by the Judicial Service Commission left an egg on the face of the executive.

Both Ex-CJ Willy Mutunga and David Maraga took a swipe at Uhuru for his tendency not to uphold the rule of law.

Other than the appointment of Judges, Uhuru is also in contempt of court by transferring the services of the Kenya Meat Commission(KMC) to the Ministry of defense.

Despite a court order barring the transfer, Uhuru went ahead to launch the new KMC under the management of the army.
