Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had earlier claimed that he was in charge of making sure that opposition leader Raila Odinga does not get closer to the gates of the State House.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had earlier claimed that he was in charge of making sure that opposition leader Raila Odinga does not get closer to the gates of the State House.

The second in command had argued that he would set traps around the State House stating that allowing the former premier around the House on the Hills would be the start of the fall of the Kenya Kwanza regime.

“Na mimi nimepanga, unajua yeye ni mtu wa kutumia njia za kando kando. Pale ikulu nimeweka mitego kila mahali akionekana ananaswa. Kwa sababu, tukimkubalia ataharibu,”

Loosely translated to “Raila is used for shortcuts. But I have set traps for him at state house because if we allow him, he will spoil our party),” Gachagua said.

However, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga was among the dignitaries who attended the State banquet on Tuesday, October 31, in honor of King Charles III.

The opposition leader was accompanied by the Minority Leader in the Nationals Assembly Opiyo Wandayi.

Photos of the rare meet-up at State House shared by President William Ruti captured the two leaders in a jovial mood exchanging pleasantries as Raila greeted the King.

Kenyans quickly took to the comment section to question DP Rigathi Gachagua’s traps which had failed to trap Raila.

Others questioned the whereabouts of the second in command who had just landed from an official state visit in Germany.

“Where’s the truthful man,” asked Hillery Mutai.

Chepkindet said “Mlituma Riggy G aende Germany ndio mpeleke Baba state house aki nyinyi!”

“Where is the son of mau mau?” another Kenyan asked.
