Eldas MP Adan Keynan has disclosed that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party wants to exit the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

During an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, August 8, Keynan, who was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket revealed that the outfit was duped and conned to join the coalition.

The legislator added that they have already given a notice to the Registrar of Political Parties requesting to exit the coalition.

“We were not party to the arrangement that led to the formation of that coalition, it was done by the leaders then. But I think we were duped… we were actually conned as Jubilee the same way Mudavadi and Wetangula were conned, history repeats itself,” Keynan said.

Keynan accused Raila Odinga’s ODM party of being selfish and stated that despite being the second largest party in the Azimio coalition, the Jubilee party has no even a single position in the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

“All out positions were taken by your party (ODM). Jubilee is the second-largest party in the opposition. We ought to have either the minority leader, the minority whip, or the deputy minority leader. Our position in PSC was taken even in the committee of formation,” he added.

The once most popular political outfit has been marred with chaos as the faction led by former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni and EALA MP Kanini Kega fight over its leadership.

Last week, embattled Jubilee SG Jeremiah Kioni accused President William Ruto of sponsoring a coup in the party.

“You can hear him say Jubilee is a sinking party. Ruto himself said Jubilee is a dead party. Why are they then interested in a copy? ” he wondered.
