The legislators pledged to work with the Kenya Kwanza government in what appeared that they have dumped Raila for William Ruto.

The senator took to his official Twitter claiming that the eight ODM MPs were paid to the tune of KSh 50 million each to shift their allegiance.

“It is unfortunate that a section of ODM MPs have been given KSh 50 million by State House to leave Azimio and join Kenya Kwanza,

“Let’s not sell the souls of our people. Betrayal in the city, you think you are destroying Baba but instead, you are destroying the community,” the senator said in a Tweet.

His remarks come just hours after the ODM party castigated its lawmaker who pledged their allegiance to the Kenya Kwanza government.

The party in a statement accused President William Ruto of spending money to bribe ODM MPs in a move to stop Azimio’s protest rallies.

ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale accused the leaders who switched camps of pushing for their own selfish gains at the expense of people’s well-being.

“We call on Kenyans to ignore such selfish leaders who only care about their stomachs and not the well-being of the millions of poor Kenyans,” Etale said.

The ODM legislators who met the President and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua at the State House include Gideon Ochando (Bondo), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East), Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo) and Kisumu Senator Prof Tom Ojienda.
