Raila who toured Nairobi’s Ruaraka and Mathare areas received a heroic reception by boda boda riders and mama mbogas.

He said most of the boda boda operators earn KSh700 in a day and after fueling their bikes they are left with about KSh200, which he said can’t even buy a 2kg-packet of Unga.

Touched by their plight, the ODM leader gifted a group of boda boda riders at Niss gas station along Juja Road with KSh 20,000 to fuel their engines and also buy something for their families.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner further rubbished President Ruto’s plan to incorporate boda boda riders and mama mbogas into the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE).

Raila wondered where the boda boda operators and mama mboga’s will get the capital to invest in the NSE when they barely have enough to put food on their tables.

“Yesterday he (President William Ruto) went to the NSE and announced boda boda riders will be able to invest in the stocks but after discussing with the riders, I have discovered that they barely make enough,

“Can a mama mboga invest in the stock exchange? It seems this government has forgotten their promises,” Raila said.

Raila who had been silent since the Supreme Court quashed his presidential petition challenging the declaration of William Ruto as the fifth president said he will not be silent anymore.

He said his silence in the last month since William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua were sworn in has led to the high cost of living.

Raila noted that after the promised 100 days of revolution by the Ruto-Rigathi administration, he will be there to question them.
