A section of leaders allied to President William Ruto now wants Publis Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria sacked.

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s impeachment hearing began at the Senate Chambers on Tuesday, November 7.

Mwangaza, who was impeached for the second time by the Meru County Assembly is facing seven charges among them misappropriation of county resources, and nepotism among others.

However, Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has revealed the outcome of the ongoing hearing even before the Senate makes a determination.

Kuria who has on several occasions accused the DP Rigathi Gachagua of being behind the plot to oust Mwangaza, allegedly to stamp his authority as Mt Kenya kingpin maintained that the impeachment motion will flop for the second time.

“Kawira Mwangazi is going nowhere, you can take that to the bank,” Kuria said.

The outspoken CS revealed that he met ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka last week in Mombasa where they mobilized more than 35 senators to shoot down the impeachment motion against Meru Governor.

“More than 35 senators are going to shoot down that motion,” the CS added.

On Friday, November 3, Kuria alleged that he bumped into Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga in Mombasa.

The politician, who was delighted by their unexpected meeting, referred to Raila as an ally.

“Bumped into my good friend,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

But going by the recent developments, the two did not meet coincidentally. They had together with Kalonzo scheduled a meeting to allegedly save embattled Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza

Appearing before the Senate full house on Tuesday, November 7, the governor pleaded not guilty to all the seven charges leveled against her by Meru MCAs.

Mwangaza is represented by lawyers; Elisha Ongoya, Elias Mutuma, Duncan Okubasu, and others. The county, on its part, is being represented by Dr.Muthomi Thiankolu as the lead counsel.
