Popular Kenya musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee has apologized to lawyer Miguna Miguna for ignoring his advice on marrying the Swiss national Dennis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer.
Akothee tied the knot with Omosh in April 2023 in a ceremony held at Windsor Hotel, Nairobi.
This was even after controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna had asked Akothee to first explain to him as her elder brother the details of Omosh.
In a statement on Meta on Thursday, November 2, the entertainer regretted not listening to the lawyer’s red alerts.
“Sorry for being rude bro. I was in love,” she said.
While defending her move to settle down with Omosh, Akothee said she was in love and that it was difficult to advise a woman in love, who was ready to settle down and have a family.
“Dennis found me at the time I was ready to settle down and gave me the love, attention, and company that I needed then,” she said.
Adding: “I found solace in Dennis. He looked like an exact perfect match for those few months. I can say I ignored all the red flags, I convinced myself that this particular one was the right one for me.”
She further maintained that she was innocent and stupid for not heading to Miguna Mugina’s advice.
“I was and still innocent. I have forgiven myself for being naïve, honest, and stupid but that does not define me as a person,” the entertainer added.
Last month, Akothee confirmed that she had parted ways with Denis Schweizer.
She said that she had already hatched an exit plan during their honeymoon and could not continue living a lie.
Although she did not divulge what led to the break-up, Akothee said staying in the marriage would have caused more harm than good.
“If I continued with the narrative of staying in this marriage after all that I know now, my life would have been shorter than the shortest verse in the Bible,” she said.
