Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has expressed his willingness to dump opposition leader Raila Odinga for President William Ruto.
Salasya who was elected to a DAP-K party under the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition said he was ready to join the government side if Ruto oversees the reduction of fuel prices in Kenya.
“President akisongesha mafuta itoke KSh 220 airudishe KSh 150 mimi naingia Kenyan Kwanza (And if he (President William Ruto) reduces the fuel price from KSh 220 and lowers it to KSh 150, I will enter Kenya Kwanza; I will leave Azimio),” Salasya said.
Salasya who does not shy away from his opinions lauded President William Ruto saying he can be the best Head of State the country will ever have.
He, however, said this would only be achieved if the President dropped some of the friends whom he accused of misadvising him.
“Let him now just address the cost of living, fuel, and whatever, and in Kenya, he will be the best president. Once he addresses that one and thank God he’s now being the country together,
“This is the time for him to delete some friends who’ve been misadvising him,” Salasya said during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday, November 1.
President Ruto has been enticing leaders from the opposition to dump Raila for him.
In August 2023, the Head of State asked Kisii governor Simba Arati to ditch the ODM party led by Raila Odinga and join the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
“Simba Arati has said I was part of ODM, and it is true. Because it is true, I was an ODM member, and the way I decamped, even you Simba should do the same and we work together,” President Ruto said.
