It appears that the tough economic times have not spared politicians, the first-term lawmaker was seen tight-fitting for food in what clearly depicts the ‘survival for the fittest’.

In a video that has gone viral on social media platforms, the youthful legislator was seen competing with his neighbors to eat raw termites (Kumbe Kumbe).

“Hapa tuko kwenye mashindano ya kula kumbe kumbe… Hapa sasa mwenye nguvu ndio atakula mingi (Here we are in an eating competition, but… Here now, the strongest will eat the most),” the lawmaker was heard saying.

“I am trying to make Kenyans happy so that they can forget their problems,” he said.

One of Salasya’s friends who was also struggling for his survival was heard complaining about the MP’s supersonic speed in eating.

The lawmaker who does not shy away from doing whatever he thinks is right immediately responded saying that he was easing too fast because he has a bigger mouth.

“Mdomo yangu ndio kubwa (My mouth is the biggest),” he said.

Appearing on Jeff Koinange Live show on Citizen TV on Wednesday, November 1, the lawmaker said he was trying to make Kenyans happy so that they could forget the tribulations caused by the current regime.

“I am trying to make Kenyans happy so that they can forget their problems,” Salasya said.

He urged President William Ruto to pick him as his advisor on economic issues, arguing that most in Kenya Kwanza led him astray by encouraging him to impose more taxes on Kenyan.

“Take me as your advisor. If he follows the things I’ve said, he will be the best president. And if he reduces the fuel price from KSh 220 and lowers it to KSh 150, I will enter Kenya Kwanza; I will leave Azimio,” Salasya said.
