Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has waded into his Mumias East counterpart Peter Salasya’s recent bad public conduct terming him immature.

Salasya has been the talk of the town after he was caught on camera assaulting a Kakamega Member of the County Assembly (MCA) at a funeral.

Before that, the first-term legislator was recorded on video chasing down and frog-matching a secondary school principal for allegedly posting poor KCSE 2023 results.

But speaking when he held talks with principals of all secondary schools within his constituency, the UDA legislator said he thinks he knows what could be the problem with Salasya.

Barasa who recently bought a new chopper said Salasya was leading a miserable life because he has no wife.

“Being his role, I have identified a problem that we must all agree on. You know being a man, with a salary and you don’t have a wife, you can be very miserable,” he said.

As such, the Kimilili MP said he would be working with other relevant stakeholders to ensure that Salasya finds a perfect partner who will help him control his emotions.

“So I think we must put our heads together and ensure that the man (Peter Salasya) gets a wife because women also play a very important role in stabilizing men’s emotions and tempers even when we feel we are exploding,” he said.

Barasa’s concerns come just a day after Salasya announced that he was ready to marry NTV News anchor Smriti Vidyarthi.

In a statement, that was later deleted from his social media account, the youthful legislator- who admitted to being single- heaped praise on the TV queen saying she was mature enough to get married.

“I want to marry this news anchor she is beautiful and mature to be married,” he said.
