The vocal lawmaker said as such, he will follow the established procedures that are followed in such incidents so that they don’t leave anything to change.

According to the tradition of the Idakho and Isukha sub-tribes, if an animal kills a person, people chop off its body parts while it is still alive until it drops dead and share the meat.

As such, the five-year-old bull which weighs about 120 kg was tied and the senator took a spear and killed it.

“In keeping with our culture, for killing his caretaker, champion bull, Inasio meets his end by the force of my Spear,” the Senator said.

The body was then taken to the field where the fight usually takes place and left for people to scramble for its flesh.

“When you cut off a body part, you run away without looking back. Another person cuts his share and also runs away until the animal is exhausted,” said Austin Munasia, the treasurer of the Kakamega Bull Fighting Association.

Khalwale mourned the deceased as a hardworking man who had worked at his place for more than 20 years.

The senator said they learned of the incident after Moi did not report to work the following day.

“…in the morning, he did not report for work and everyone was concerned. My wife asked his colleagues to go to his house and check on him. But when they went to the house, they checked the bull’s den and found his body lying in a pool of blood,” he said.
