Miguna, an ally-turned fierce critic of the opposition leader said Raila was only interested in being the Luo’s kingpin adding that his sixth stab at the presidency is already predictable.

Canada-based lawyer Miguna Miguna has dismissed former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga’s claims that his abductors wanted to know ODM leader Raila Odinga’s plans.

Njenga who was abducted on Sunday, September 17, 2023, said his abductors questioned him extensively about Raila Odinga’s intentions after the ODM leader had announced that he would not call for demonstrations.

“They (abductors) wanted to know what Raila Odinga was planning after recently ruling out protests to pressure the government into lowering the cost of living,” Maina Njenga said.

He further stated that his captors also inquired whether the opposition was actively recruiting any groups.

However, in a quick rejoinder, Miguna Miguna dismissed Maina Njenga’s claims terming them as “laughable”.

Miguna, in a statement on X on Tuesday, September 19, said Raila’s plans are well known through his close friends who he says are on the National Intelligence Service (NIS) payroll.

“Mungiki leader Maina Njenga claims that his abductors wanted to know conman Raila Odinga’s plans. Laughable. Everyone knows Raila Odinga’s plans. His spokesmen and cronies are on the payroll of the NIS,” Miguna said on X.

While ruling out maandamano, Raila on Sunday, September 16, without disclosing his next move said he was waiting for the outcome of the bi-partisan national dialogue.

“Mara hii haitakua ati sisi tunaambia wananchi warudi kwa Barbara, hapana wananchi wakirudi watarudi kwa mambo mengine tofauti kabisa.”

“Sitaki kusema wakati huu maanake nitakua mimi nimetoa maneno mapema. Watch this space!”

This loosely translates to, “As you know, we have collected 10 million signatures from Kenyans… we know what we will do with those signatures.

“This time we are not telling the citizens to return to the streets. If they return, they will come back for completely different reasons. Watch this space!”
