Raila’s lawyer, Paul Mwangi has dismissed the timelines by IEBC that required presidential contenders to name their running mate by April 28.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s chief agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory questioned the accuracy of presidential results moment before the release.

Addressing journalists outside the Bomas of Kenya on Monday, August 15, Kanchory said they were yet to be given form 34C, on which national presidential election results are captured.

At the time, Raila Odinga had not arrived at Bomas, where the results were to be announced and kanchory said the former Prime Minister would only show up for the official declaration of the presidential winner once the results have been verified.

“We have intelligence reports that their system was penetrated and hacked and that some of the IEBC officials actually committed electoral offenses and some of them ought to have been arrested if they were not arrested,” he said.

He read malice in the manner in which IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati was taking too long to announce the presidential winner.

“As we speak right now, we do not know what the chairman (Wafula Chebukati) is doing with those results, we have had concerns, particularly about the integrity of the IEBC technology and server,” Kanchory

His comments come after the IEBC pushed the announcement of presidential results from 3:00 pm to a later time.

This implies that the former Prime Minister will not accept the outcome of the presidential results in the event Deputy president William Rut of the United Democratic Alliance is declared the fifth presidential-elect.

Alternatively, Raila who was vying for the firth time will likely move to the Supreme Court to challenge DP William Ruto’s win.

Earlier on, Raila’s chief agent had claimed that some IEBC officials were colluding with their opponents to alter results and sneak in Forms 34A.

Willia, Ruto was later announced the president-elect in the absence of his closest rival, Raila Odinga.
