Mt. Kenya MPs allied to deputy president William Ruto said that he is the best president Kenya needs to improve the economy.

During a meeting held in Limuru, the MPs specifically noted that the Mt. Kenya region will benefit more from Ruto’s leadership since it is the most productive in revenue generation.

The legislators said that their people have been impoverished by the current administration; hence there was a need for economic recovery that only Ruto will achieve.

“We want a candid engagement with the candidate on matters of economic recovery and measures we will take to restore our people’s economic power and create jobs for our young people,” read a statement by the Tanga Tanga leaders.

Apart from the economic agenda, the Tanga Tanga members also discussed the political interest of the region.

With this plan, the leaders resorted to set up committees with representatives from all counties to spearhead discussions that is centred around citizen’s issues and aspirations.

“We have held two meetings and drawn up an negotiation and engagement framework that will incorporate economists, business and religious leaders and hustler nation representatives from our country”

The meeting came just after another one chaired by Mathira Member of parliament to discuss the process of starting negotiations with the DP.

“We agreed to have the negotiations with Ruto whom a majority of our constituents identify with as their candidate of choice, and one whom they trust to carry their aspirations of economic recovery,” Said Meru senator Linturi.

Mt Kenya politicians allied to President Uhuru dismissed the outcome of the alleged meeting, saying that any leader interested in the region’s politics should negotiate through the head of state.
