Kandara MP Alice Wahome has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to be mindful of his words as the country approaches the General Election.

Kandara MP Alice Wahome has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to be mindful of his words as the country approaches the General Election.

Taking to social media yesterday, the outspoken lawmaker blasted President Uhuru for saying DP Ruto attempted to overthrow him, saying such statements might ‘burn the country’.

“You are our president stop burning the country with your propaganda,” Wahome wrote on Twitter.

Wahome, a close ally of DP Ruto further said that President Uhuru’s recent revelations on his fallout with his second in command, will not make Mt Kenya region change their stand on voting for DP Ruto.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta, that story on William Ruto will not help you get support from Mt Kenya region,” Wahome stated.

Wahome who is being touted to be DP Ruto’s running mate told the president to finish his term and hand over peacefully, “Maliza Uende”.

Sentiments by Wahome, come after President Uhuru while meeting Mt Kenya elders at State House on Saturday, March 26, is reported to have revealed that his deputy was scheming to impeach him, a move that saw him shook hands with ODM leader Raila Odinga to counter the move.

During the meeting, Uhuru said while his deputy projected a friendly face in the public, behind the scenes, Ruto was orchestrating how to cause a premature end of his presidency through an ouster.

The plot, according to the sources who attended the meeting, was for the DP to widen the enmity gap between Uhuru and Raila and use it to win the heart of the former premier in his bid to topple Uhuru through parliament.

Already DP Ruto has denied the allegation by his boss, terming them baseless and propaganda.
