Their appearance happened just hours after the Chebukati-led faction declined an invitation to appear before the committee co-chaired by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah.

The team which the majority have since gone into exile maintained that they still don’t trust the outcome of the hotly contested 2022 presidential election that declared William Ruto as president-elect.

While calling for the review of the 2022 presidential election, Wanderi revealed that they were not allowed to tally the presidential results as required by law.

He added that all commissioners were required to sign form 34C, which had a summary of presidential results from all constituencies but that did not happen.

“We never tallied the results; they were tallied by people working with the Chairman. There is a prescribed format for declaring all elected positions, and there is a form to be filled.

“For the Presidential results, we as commissioners are supposed to fill out form 34C. That was never submitted to us. What we got from the CEO was a three or four-page summary of all counties. As we speak, we have never seen Form 34C,” alleged Wanderi.

On her part, Cherera alleged that she was still scared of revealing some of the intrigues behind the 2022 polls adding that it was still not the space for her and her colleagues to speak.

“There are certain things we cannot say on camera because it is not a safe space,” Cherera stated.
