Raila Odinga says Kalonzo will be part of his cabinet should he win presidency

Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has pledged to appoint the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as part of his cabinet if he secures victory in the forthcoming August polls.

Speaking at KICC on Monday, May 16 during the unveiling of his running mate, Raila revealed that he will make Kalonzo the Chief Cabinet Secretary.

“On August 9th this year, the country will hold its 7th multiparty election as an independent republic. I am happy to be the ticket holder of the Azimio la Umoja coalition party and with this team, we will win the election and create a new Kenya.

“I have nominated Kalonzo Musyoka as the Chief Cabinet Secretary with the responsibility to coordinate and supervise functions of the government,” Raila said.

Further, the ODM leader revealed that he will appoint Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya as Cabinet Secretary for Treasury.

On the hand, Peter Munya who was angling for the running mate slot will be retained as the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary in the Azimio government.

Flamboyant Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho will be appointed to head the land ministry a appease the coastal region.

“I have nominated Wycliffe Oparanya as National Treasury Cabinet Secretary and Ali Hassan Joho as Lands Cabinet Secretary.” Raila started.

The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential candidate made the revelation before naming his running mate.

The former prime minister settled Martha Karua as his presidential run a move that upset the Wiper leader.

As Raila was revealing the role Kalonzo will play in his hii government if he wins, the Wiper leader was on the hand announcing their divorce.

“We have agreed to go separate ways with Azimio la Umoja, I wish Raila Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua well,” Kalonzo Musyoka said.
