Raila Odinga’s right-hand man claims President Uhuru stole elections in 2017

by Amos Khaemba

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s right-hand man, Junet Mohamed has retaliated sentiments by Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege that Raila might have been rigged out in the 2017 presidential election.

Speaking in Malaba, Busia County on Saturday, February 12, during the Azimio la Umoja rally, the Suna East MP said that the 2017 elections were rigged in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Sabina Chege juzi aliongea na akasema kwamba 2017 kulikuwa na wizi wa Kura, mimi nataka kuambia William Ruto kwamba hiyo ni ukweli mtupu,..(Recently Sabina Chege spoke and said that in 2017 there was electoral malpractice, I want to tell William Ruto that, that is the plain truth)” Junet said.

“Mimi nasema kwamba 2017, kulikuwa na shida ya uchaguzi mpaka Suprme court alikubaliana na sisi. (Me I know 2017 there was a problem with the election that is why The Supreme Court intervened and nallified the outcome)” Mohamed added.

The comments by Junet come after Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade defended the 2017 election results.

While on a campaign tour of Nakuru County, Deputy President William Ruto disputed the claims that President Uhuru and him stole the 2017 elections.

“There is one woman (Sabina Chege) from Azimio who said that Uhuru and I stole votes in 2017. I want to ask you the people of Nakuru, were your votes stolen? Did you not vote for us? We did not steal anyone’s votes.

Sabina Chege stirred controversy with her utterances made at a public rally in Isibuye in Vihiga County on February 10, 2022, during the Azimio la Umoja Movement mobilization rally.

The sentiments by Chege have seen her being summoned by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for electoral misconduct.

While urging residents to register in large numbers as voters so that they can vote in ODM leader Raila Odinga to be the fifth President, Chege revealed how Jubilee might have rigged the ODM leader out in the 2017 presidential elections.

“Kule central nimeskia hapawengine wakisema hapa tuliwaibia, kuna kaukweli kidogo. Lakini mjue kama tulijua kuiba si ata hii tutafanya nini…alafu…alafu”. ( In Central, I have heard here some people saying that we stole from them. There is some truth in that. They should know that if we knew how to steal then, why not in this? Will we not do something… then… then…then)
