Presidential candidate Raila Odinga‘s lawyer Philip Murgor has told the Supreme Court that the August 9, presidential elections were technically conducted in Venezuela.

Speaking on Friday, September 2, the senior counsel told the apex court that at least five foreigners of Venezuelan origin infiltrated the IEBC servers three weeks before the voting days and one week after elections day.

He said as Kenyans were queuing to make their choices through the ballot, a group of about five foreigners were busy manipulating the results to favor a certain presidential candidate.

According to Murgor, the Venezuelans were tasked with determining who was to succeed outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta thereof robbing millions of Kenyans of their constitutional right to choose who their next president would be.

“Our elections were conducted from Venezuela. They (Venezuelans) decided who won. (Wafula) Chebukati was just a mouthpiece,” Raila’s lawyer said.

Murgor, who is representing petitioners Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua said Vito, Josia Ogudino, Csilva, Provisio, and Jose Camargo accessed the IEBC servers about 180 times, with the longest being 3 hours.

“There was the active participation of foreigners on the results transition system of IEBC from 15th July to 16th August,

“Their names are Vito, Josia, Ogudino, Csilva, Provisio and Jose Camargo. They accessed the server about 180 times with the longest being 3 hours 16 minutes,” he said.

Earlier on, Murgor had asked the Supreme Court to invalidate the presidential results announced by the commission’s chairperson stating that the results declared by Wafula Chebukati were not objective and did not represent the will of the people.

“It came out that somewhere, somehow, in the Karen suburb, there was a group of about 50 people who had access to the ICT systems of IEBC. These people were intercepting results before being uploaded to the public portal,” Murgor told the Supreme Court.
