William Ruto’s ally heckled in Kiambu for attacking Raila ally

by Amos Khaemba

Deputy President William Ruto’s close ally was left speechless after Kiambu residents heckled him for attacking the ODM leader Raila Odinga’s ally.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah was shouted down after he attempted to attacked Lari MP Jonah Mburu who is a strong supporter of the Azimio la Umoja.

In a video clip that surfaced online, the outspoken Kikuyu MP, who was part of Deputy President William Ruto’s campaign train, was cut short while addressing the Kenya Kwanza rally.

The Kikuyu MP had deviated to talk about Mburu, in an attempt to mock him for supporting the Azimio la Umoja movement led by the former prime minister.

“Your area MP here is called Jonah and he is my friend and…,” Ichung’wah stated and the crowd immediately began chanting “He is the one we want, we want him again.”

In the video clip, the residents immediately shouted the MP down in the full glare of the deputy president and his Kenya Kwanza leaders including Mudavadi and Wetang’ula.

While a majority of the MPs from Kiambu county have moved to Ruto’s camp, Mburu has remained loyal to the handshake team spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

During the tour of President Uhuru’s backyard, Ruto accused the media of wedging war between him and his boss.

The second in command said it was misplaced for the media to continue taking Kenya Kwanza’s sentiments, especially on budget-making as an attack on Uhuru.

“President Kenyatta is retiring in August. The contest is between us and Raila whom we will send home,” the DP said.

“Uhuru is retiring and we respect him. The budget amendments where we have proposed Sh50 billion for hustlers and more money for counties are for the next government,” he said.
