Waiguru’s bitter rival drops another hint she’ll dump William Ruto

by Enock Ndayala

Kirinyaga Woman Rep Purity Ngirici has dropped another hint she will dump William Ruto in the 2022 General Election.

In what appeared that the Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant will contest for the County’s top seat as an independent candidate, Ngirici urged electorates to vote for leaders, not political parties they are affiliated to.

“I would also like to remind those individuals joining different parties that the people of Kirinyaga will elect the person and not the party,” Ngirici said suggesting she could seek the county’s top seat as an independent candidate.

Kirinyaga Woman Rep Purity Ngirici has dropped another hint she will dump William Ruto in the 2022 General Election.

Ngirici a long-time ally of Deputy President William Ruto spoke on Thursday, December 23, in Kiamagumo area in the Gichugu constituency during the burial of a slain assistant chief.

Ngirici’s utterances suggest that she could possibly decamp from UDA, leaving Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as the only contender for Kirinyaga County’s gubernatorial seat under William Ruto’s party.

In November 2021, Ngirici spoke on her latest unrest and threats to leave William Ruto’s Party, UDA just days after Waiguru had joined the outfit.

She said her unease in the party is not because her opponent Anne Waiguru had joined the camp, but because of the mistreatment from other party members.

“My issues are not mainly because Waiguru joined UDA but the bullying which is happening in the party,” Ngirici said.

She says that the bullies in William Ruto’s party have extended to insulting her husband, Andrew Ngirici who is not even a politician.

“At one time I was insulted in the TangaTanga WhatsApp group where Ruto is. My husband too was dragged into it and called names but he was not in the group to defend himself.

“This pained me and I called William Ruto to express my displeasure,” she said.
