In a statement on Wednesday, January 17, Wamae said she could now be the country’s second in command were it not for his party leader’s poverty.

She said her ticket with George Wajackoyah was the best deal for the country but her boss lost focus as they neared the 2022 presidential election.

Wamae without mentioning names said Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition sent political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi to Wajackoyah with cash, a move she argued that made him lose focus.

This she said confused Wajackoyah who then started drumming up support for his presidential competitor Raila Odinga.

“Lakini Herode aliyetaka kuua Yesu ni nani? Vile vile Azimio walitaka kuua ndoto ya WaKenya, walituma Ngunyi na tupesa tudogo mzee akasahau bhangi akasema Raila tosha. Poverty is the enemy guys,” she said.

Loosely translated to: “Just like Herod who wanted to kill Jesus… In the same way, Azimio wanted to kill the dream of Kenyans, so they sent (Mutahi) Ngunyi and gave us a little money, the old man (George Wajackoyah) forgot the money and said Raila Tosha.”

At least four candidates vied in the 2022 presidential election that was seeking to find the now-retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor.

According to the official results announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Wajackoyah and Wamae were third behind William Ruto and Raila Odinga.

In what appears that Wamae’s claims are true, just a month into the hotly contested presidential elections, Wajackoyah sensationally claimed that he was offered KSh 200 million to drop out of the race.

“Recently, they came to my place and said that this Wajackoyah, why done we just pay him KSh 200 million so that he can drop his bid,” the Roots Party leader said.
