Kirinyaga Woman rep Purity Wangui’s husband Andrew Ngirici has bragged about his immense wealth while claiming sponsored youths destroyed his wife’s campaign billboards.

Speaking in Mwea town on Sunday, Ngirici protested the removal of his wife’s campaign billboard, despite the fact he owned the infrastructure on which the banners had been hoisted.

According to the businessman, the billboard was destroyed by goons sponsored by current Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru.

“The law says when you put a billboard you pay for it and I did it. I bought the metal, they are mine, they belong to me you can not put anything here without consulting me,” Andrew Ngirici said.

While castigating the move by County officials to destroy the billboard, Ngirici bragged about his immense wealth.

“I have seen county officials here giving youths KSh 10, that is not money. If they want money, I have more than Central Bank of Kenya,

“I do not know what her (Anne Waiguru) problem is, her time in Kirinyaga is over, she doesn’t understand. She is going home,” he said.

However, the County government officials stated that the billboard was removed in order to clean the town ahead of the Utamaduni day celebrations slated for Monday, October 10..

The supremacy battle between Kirinyaga Woman rep Wangui Ngirici and governor Anne Waiguru has been gaining momentum ever since the latter gave hints of joining William Ruto’s camp.

On Friday, October 8, Anne Waiguru held a meeting with UDA allied women including Susan Kihika, Aisha Jumwa, and Rahab Mukami.

This angered Ngirici, who urged the UDA members not to meddle in Kirinyaga affairs.

“If you were elected in Nyeri, Nakuru and the Coast, channel your energy there. I know Kirinyaga people like me for my unrelenting support to them and they are determined to make me their next governor,” Ngirici said.
