Eric Omondi claims he is receiving threats for supporting Jimmy Wanjigi

Comedian Eric Omondi claims that he is receiving threatening messages from unknown people for supporting Orange Democratic Movement presidential aspirant Jimmy Wanjigi.

According to Eric, who has been a vocal supporter of Jimmy Wanjigi’s ‘Fagia Wote’ campaign, the threats are being sent through social media, late-night calls, and texts.

Eric Omondi says that the stalkers are even aware of his movements, and have been tracking him.

“I get messages on my phone saying ‘utajua Kenya ina wenyewe we are giving you three weeks and we will show you that Kenya has its owners,” he said in a video posted to his Instagram page.

The comedian said he is determined to bring change in Kenya and will continue supporting Jimmy Wanjigi despite the threats.

“I am not threatened, they call me at night with private and unknown numbers. It means they are scared. Some of them are in government, they try to change their voices but if you are keen you will know who it is,” Eric Omondi said.

He said that the persons threatening him have given him 3 weeks to retreat. The comedian did not however disclose whether or not he has reported the matter to any police station.

The comedian has irked many members of the public and a section of ODM for supporting Jimmy Wanjigi.

Being the main opponent of Raila Odinga in the forthcoming ODM Party presidential nominations, Jimmy Wanjigi has been using Eric to advocate for change in ODM leadership and nationally.

This has not settled well with Raila Odinga allies, who consider Jimmy Wanjigi as a big threat to the Party leader’s 2022 presidential ambitions.

Early this month, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris castigated Eric Omondi for his pro-Wanjigi campaigns.

“The other day I saw some little comedian here talking about Fagia Wote. What has he ever done other than to make us laugh? At the end of the day we have to respect our elders and we have to respect what they have done,” Esther Passaris said.
