‘God’s blessings’ ex-president Uhuru leads Kenyans in wishing Raila happy birthday

Former 2022 elections presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Saturday, January 7, turned 78 years.

Leaders from both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party and Kenyans flooded social media to wish the former Prime Minister a happy birthday.

The leaders and Kenyans were led by ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta in wishing Raila all the best as he grows old.

In his message, Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta described Raila as his brother and friend saying that may God’s favor be upon him on his birthday.

“I would like to take this opportunity in the new year, to wish my brother and friend Raila Odinga a Happy Birthday. May God’s blessings and favor be upon you today and in the years to come,” Uhuru said.

“To our Party Leader Raila Odinga, we are proud to be a part of your special day. You remain the most wonderful leader to the world of yesterday, today, and the future. As millions celebrate your birthday today as a special gift to our beloved country, we ask Kenyans to remain focused on rebuilding a united Kenya. Happy Birthday Baba.”

Other leaders that have celebrated the ODM leader’s birthday include his 2022 presidential running mate Martha Karua, Homa Bay governor Glady’s Wanga, and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed.

On her part, Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua described Raila as a transformational leader.

“Happy birthday Raila Odinga Captain of Azimio and Kenya’s foremost transformational leader. May you enjoy many happy returns,” Karua wrote on Twitter.

Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga described Raila as an inspirational leader whose contribution to constitutionalism, devolution, and the fight for democracy will continue to inspire all.

“Baba, we thank you for your contributions to constitutionalism, devolution, and the fight for a better Kenya and better lives for all Kenyans. Many of us have been and will continue to be inspired by you,” Wanga said.
