Presidential candidate Jimmy Wanjigi unveiled his 2022 manifesto on Thursday, November 11 as he seeks to battle Raila Odinga for the ODM presidential ticket.

The now ODM party ‘rebel’ member declared that his 2022 manifesto is ‘think globally, act locally’, daring his opponents to copy it.

“It will be anchored on the progress and modernisation of Kenya. Our theme is very clear – Think globally, act locally. I have said that let us see whether people copy it again,” Wanjigi said.

The businessman explained that opponents have copied his campaign slogan, and are walking around popularising it as their own.

“We came up with a slogan talking about the third liberation.. economic freedom and you can see many people are now copying what we are saying. We talked about the three phases of Kenya’s history,” Wanjigi added.

The fears on 2022 manifesto being copied by opponents has also been expressed by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua who is also a presidential candidate.

Mutua, who is yet to unveil his manifesto said that he is keeping it for the right time to keep copycats at bay.

“I’ll come up with my manifesto which covers all these things, and I don’t want to talk about them now because some people keep on copying what I say,” Mutua stated in a TV interview on November 4.

While unveiling his manifesto, Jimmy Wanjigi expressed confidence in clinching the ODM presidential nomination ticket.

Wanjigi argued that he has no competitor within ODM, and is confident that he has a huge number of supporters.

“We believe in democracy of the party. Yesterday I had 12 counties that came to endorse my candidature. I have over 1500 delegates, and the delegates system in ODM requires 3000, we know where the numbers are,” he said.

Wanjigi brushed off claims that Raila Odinga will be his competitor saying that the ODM leader has not officially declared his presidential bid.
