Murkomen: President Uhuru now regretting after pushing Ruto out of government

by Enock Ndayala

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen hit back at President Uhuru Kenyatta after he blamed William Ruto for abandoning his deputy president role.

In a statement on Sunday, May 1, the vocal One Kenya Alliance legislator told the President to blame himself, especially after he stripped Ruto of his roles.

Murkomen, who was responding to President Uhuru Kenyatta for accusing his estranged deputy William Ruto for doing nothing to help in addressing the rising cost of living, said Uhuru was now regretting his actions.

“President Kenyatta is now regretting that his handshake scheme to sideline Deputy President worked against him,

” In 2019, he issued Executive Order number 1 stripping the deputy president of any responsibility which left him exposed, clueless, and rudderless. He (President Uhuru) has no one to blame but himself,” Murkomen said in a Tweet.

During the Labour Day celebrations at the Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, April 30, Uhuru, without mentioning names, blasted his deputy for faulting him over the rising cost of living yet he is not the cause.

Uhuru accused William Ruto of abandoning his duties and traversing the country to inciting Kenyans that he is the one to blame for the skyrocketing prices for basic commodities.

“It is not Kenyans who brought the Covid-19 pandemic that cost loss of lives and jobs. But even as we try to bring back order and revive the economy, others have begun wars that are completely out of nowhere,

“Instead of coming to help me and offer your advice, you are busy in the market abusing people and you are calling yourself a leader of a higher rank. You should have left long ago I get someone else to help me work,” President Uhuru said.
