ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has defended William Ruto against attacks from his boss President Uhuru over early campaigns.

During the launch of ANC digital platforms on Thursday, December 2, Musalia responded to President Uhuru’s comment that younger politicians are too fast in reference t campaigns for the 2022 presidential election.

To show his mastery of the latest slang among youths, the ANC Party leader said ‘Hatupangwingwi’ – which means that young people can not be told what to do.

“If people are worried that the young people are running very fast, then they must wake up to the reality that the young people are tired of us going too slowly,

“Hatupangwingwi! Young people want to see results,” Musalia Mudavadi said amid cheers from his supporters.

On Wednesday, December 1, President Uhuru fired his deputy William Ruto over holding early campaigns.

Uhuru, who termed Ruto as a youthful person cautioned him against his speed, saying that an old Raila Odinga can be slow but defeat him in the upcoming polls.

“Leadership is not like soccer on the field, leadership is not a sprint…it is a marathon, you will run but by the time you are almost there you have no breath,

“But an old man (Raila Odinga) going slowly will overtake you (William Ruto) on the road. Mosmos (slowly)…” President Uhuru said amid cheers from the crowd.

This gave clear hints that Raila Odinga is President Uhuru’s preferred successor in 2022, hence the concern over how William Ruto is running numerous campaigns.

It is no surprise for Musalia to defend William Ruto, who was expected to be his competitor in the 2022 elections.

This is because there have been reports that the ANC Party leader has been meeting Ruto, and might consider joining forces with him to battle Raila Odinga in the presidential race.
