Nominated senator reunites with favourite bus tout before she made it

A section of nominated and elected leaders drawn from both National and County governments have been remembering those who helped them before ascending to various leadership positions.

For instance, Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri left her fans and Kenyans excited after meeting a taut who used to ferry her before she was nominated.

Okenyuri, who was nominated to the Senate by the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, shared photos of the tout whom she identified as Karris.

The youthful legislator who is also a member of the Senate Health Committee and the Senate Powers and Privileges Committee haled Karris as smooth and flawless in handling his customers along the Ongata Rongai route.

Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri was excited after meeting Karris, the matatu conductor who used to ferry her along the Ongata Rongai route.

“I have to admit that he is still flawless and smooth in handling his customers on this route,” the senator said.

The 32-year-old is a passionate advocate for the rights of women and youth and is committed to working to improve the lives of Kenyans through education, job creation, and economic empowerment.

Earlier, the legislator covered the medical expenses of her former lecturer, who was receiving medical attention at a local hospital in Nairobi for several weeks.

Dr Shem Khamadi, who has been working as a Senior Lecturer at Maasai Mara University’s School of Information Sciences, fell ill, prompting his beloved student to check on him.

“So immediately I arrived, I went straight to hospital where we shared pleasantries,” the Senator explained while acknowledging Dr Khamadi’s role in her life, in a series of posts on her social media pages.

Others who have reunited with the people who helped them much before making it include Mumias East MP Peter Salasya and Bomet Woman Representative Linet Kipchirchir alias Linet Toto.
