Immediately after her arrest, the teenager was whisked to DCI headquarters for interrogation before she was booked at Muthaiga police station.

The teenager who reportedly sat her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) between 2021 and 2022 was later captured on CCTV camera escaping from Maigo’s Woodley Annex house through the fence.

Footage retrieved by crime scene detectives close to the scene of the murder captured the minor scaling perimeter walls prompting the sleuths to launch for her hunt.

Maigo was reportedly stabbed 25 times in his neck, chest, and face at his home in Woodley Estate on the outskirts of Nairobi on Friday, September 15.

Two blood-stained knives believed to have been the murder weapons were recovered from the scene of the crime. The motive is yet to be known.

Last week, detectives recovered clothes believed to have been worn by the main suspect during the murder of Maigo.

Maigo will be laid to rest on Friday, September 29, at his Keumbu home, in Kisii County.
