Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga could be punished for ignoring President William Ruto’s meeting.

“I don’t see it as a challenge because it must not be one. We have to change our thinking as Africans. Political power is not the goal,

“Those of us who are privileged to even have fathers need to work together to offer our brothers and sisters dignified lives. That is the goal,” Winnie stated.

It is worth noting that Winnie Odinga’s father and Charlene Ruto’s dad once worked so closely in the build-up to the dramatic 2007/08 General Election.

However, the two bitterly fell out after 2007/08 after the ODM leader was named the Prime Minister under the Grand Coalition government.

Ruto who was then the Eldoret North Member of Parliament shifted camps and aligned with Rtd. President Uhuru Kenyatta where defeated Raila Odinga in the 2013 presidential election.

The two have since been political antagonists as was witnessed in the 2022 General Election.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared William Ruto the president in the hotly contested elections after polling 7.1 million against Raila’s 6.9 million.

Although the Supreme Court reinstated William Ruto’s win, the opposition leader Raila Odinga has vowed to lead the country in mass protests against the new administration insisting that he won the election.
