Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has castigated ODM supporters saying they think the 2018 handshake between President Uhuru and Raila Odinga would help them rig the 2022 elections.

“The irony of the handshake is that instead of Uhuru convincing Raila that elections are won by strength of voter support, it has affirmed his belief that what he always lacked was the system to rig (elections),

“99% of ODM supporters now believe his win will be system-aided. Awuoro!” Cheruiyot said in a Tweet.

Presidential front runner Raila Odinga’s elder brother Oburu Odinga had earlier on boasted that his sibling had finally found the formula to win the presidency in the 2022 General Election.

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) member alleged that his younger brother, an opposition leader and former prime minister, had won three presidential elections in the past but had been robbed off victory on all occasions.

“Why haven’t we gone to State House when we have won elections through votes?

“This is because there was something that we were missing and that something is called ‘system’,” he said about government support.

While exuding confidence that his younger brother will win the 2022 presidential elections, Oburu castigated those dismissing the importance of the ‘system’ in elections saying they were missing the plot.

“System is very important and now we are with President Uhuru Kenyatta who is holding the system …  system plus our votes which are always more than others, what else do we need?” Oburu said.
