William Ruto believes he’s being fought for standing with Wanjiku

Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto claims many leaders, he did not name, have joined forces with some opposition leaders to fight him politically for standing with Wanjiku.

Speaking on Friday, September 3, when he hosted small-scale traders from Embakasi North, Central, South, and Starehe constituencies at the Karen residence, Nairobi, the deputy president said he is being fought because he has managed to enlighten and awaken the common mwanainchi in the country.

“Many leaders have ganged up and say we must fight Ruto (William) because he has sent word to the Hustlers,

“The ganging up you see is because they are worried that Hustlers (Wanjiku) are starting to realize that even their interests are important and should be included in the national debate so that they too can rise to the top,” he said.

Ruto went on to compare politics with love affairs saying, unlike a love affair, in politics people vote for people who champion their interest

The relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Agriculture Minister began to deteriorate, Ruto has been seen fighting a cold war from government units.

Just a week ago, the National Police Service recalled officers from the General Service G-Company unit that form part of William Ruto’s security from his official residence in Karen and replaced them with Administration officers drawn from the Security of Government Building Unit.

While the NPS said the reshuffle in William Ruto’s security was a normal reassignment of duties within the service to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, Ruto on the other hand believes that the change of his security team was politically instigated to fight him.

According to city lawyer Danston Omari, the move to replace GSU officers with Administration Police was aimed at confining the deputy president from flying outside the country ahead of the crucial 2022 General Election since the AP does not have the mandate to provide security outside the bourders.

This happened less than a month after the former Eldoret North Member of Parliament was barred from flying to the neighboring country Uganda.

Last month, the deputy president claimed that he has been technically pushed out of the government he co-formed with his boss and his roles allegedly taken by the opposition leaders
