Cleophas Malala offers Raila place in One Kenya Alliance

by Enock Ndayala

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has offered ODM leader Raila Odinga a place in the One Kenya Alliance as the country shuttles towards the much anticipated 2022 General Election.

Speaking during the launch of ANC digital platforms at the party headquarters in Nairobi on Thursday, December 2, Malala said it would be so difficult for Raila to win the 2022 presidential contest without working with One Kenya Alliance principals.

“I welcome everyone… even former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is good if he supports us. He should come to One Kenya Alliance but let him know that we are well prepared,” Malala said.

The vocal ANC Senator who is eying the Kakamega gubernatorial seat explained that in the 2022 presidential elections, Raila Odinga might not get the majority of Luhya and Kamba votes as it was in the 2013 and 2017 elections.

“We know they (Raila Odinga team) have panicked because they know that the six million votes Raila got in 2017 may not be there in 2022. They fear Raila will lose the three million Luyha votes and the two million Kamba votes,” he said.

The former MCA for Mahiakalo ward said he will be right at the gate waiting to sanitize Raila Odinga should the former Prime Minister agree to join the nascent OKA alliance to ensure he only brings positive energy that would make Mudavadi the fifth President.

“I will personally sanitize Raila Odinga before he joins OKA to ensure he brings only positive energy that will make Musalia the 5th president of the Republic of Kenya,” Malala said.

The OKA brings together Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Gideon Moi (Kanu), and Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya) has several times insisted that they will only work with opposition leader as an equal partner.

The principals insist that they supported Raila in 2017 and that the ODM leader should support one of them for the top seat.
