Mathira MP warns Kalonzo against trusting President Uhuru ‘he’s a conman’

by Amos Khaemba

As the Azimio alliance negotiations continue, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has warned the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka against trusting President Uhuru Kenyatta terming him a political conman.

Speaking on the KTN News program dubbed ‘Checkpoint’ on Sunday, March 6, Gachagua wondered why Kalonzo is reluctant to negotiate with Raila Odinga yet wants President Uhuru to mediate an agreement.

The outspoken lawmaker said that President Uhuru cannot be trusted as an arbiter on a matter that he has already taken a position.

“The only place is finding Kalonzo to be naïve, is that he wants President Uhuru to be an arbitrator between him and Raila because Raila Odinga is dishonest, but I would like to tell Kalonzo that President Uhuru is not neutral in this matter as he has already taken a position, he supports Raila,” Gachagua said.

“And therefore, Kalonzo Musyoka should be very careful because Raila Odinga conned him when he went for the handshake, he didn’t go with him, when he negotiated for development, he only negotiated for the Nyanza region.” He warned Kalonzo.

The Mathira legislature warned the Wiper leader that the Azimio proponents cannot be trusted with political promises saying they have all broken previous promises.

“Azimio is thing is an alliance of coalition of conmen because Raila has conned Kalonzo, Mudavadi, and Wetangula, and on the other hand, President Uhuru has conned William Ruto…. These two people are political conmen, and they are conning everybody.” Gachagua stated.

The sentiments by Gachagua come after the Wiper leader called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to take the leadership of the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance Coalition ahead of the August 9 General Election

“I give you my promise and that of OKA that we are together in this journey but will negotiate structured dialogue honest conversation, correcting even historic imbalances because the building is easy anywhere and propose President Uhuru takes leadership of that coalition,” Kalonzo said during the Jubilee NDC.
