Mumias East MP Peter Salasya on Thursday, January 12, met a Nuru Okanga, a staunch supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga supporter.

This was after Okanga’s enemies reduced his village house to ashes for unknown reasons.

But speaking after meeting him, Mumias East MP condemned those who burnt Okang’s house but promised to build him another house.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya on Thursday, January 12, met a Nuru Okanga, a staunch supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga supporter.

“I will stand with my brothers from lower Kakamega even upper Kakamega going forward,

“hawafanyi poa kukuchomea nyumba si poa but nitakujengea nyumba ndio urudi tena Nairobi,” Salasya said.

The youthful legislator further asked Nuru to consider doing village politics adding that he will be willing to sponsor him to vie for an MCA seat in the 2027 General Election.

“Nuru Okanga you have been doing Nairobi politics but I will endorse you for the MCA seat in Matungu immediately after I finish building you a house next week,” Salasya added.

Okanga, in a report by Tuko.co.ke confirmed that the lawmaker had sent him KSh 3,000 as fare back home to ensure he has put up another structure.

“Peter Salasya has sent me KSh 3,000 as a fare to Kakamega. This is a good gesture, as I was stuck in Nairobi. I’m going home and I’m supposed to meet him there. He has also promised to build me a house. I’m so grateful to him and I thank TUKO.co.ke for sharing my story,” Okanga said.

Okango, a fierce critic of President William Ruto revealed that his house was burnt on the night of Saturday, January 7.

He has since appealed to well-wishers to assist him to build a new house.

“Some people set my house ablaze. They have reduced me to nothing because now I don’t have a house in the village. I was not in the village,” Okanga stated.
