Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has set tongues wagging after saying that President William Ruto’s 2027 reelection was guaranteed.
Speaking in Navakholo, Kakamega County during President William Ruto’s last day in the region, Mudavadi said it will be difficult to beat William Ruo in the next General Election.
Mudavadi, co-principal in the Kenya Kwanza Coalition said that those seeking to challenge William Ruto in 2027 were daydreaming due to his track record.
“Let me ask, when you calculate will the opposition be able to unseat Ruto in 2027? My prayer for us is to stop gambling. The way Ruto is working and moving across the country, it will be difficult for him to be defeated,” Mudavadi said.
Ruto who will be seeking to retain his seat, is expected to battle it out with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential chief agent Saitabao Ole Kanchori.
“This time round, there is nothing to stop Kalonzo from becoming the president of Kenya. Ruto is the only obstacle and he knows it. He said that he is aware Kalonzo will face him in the 2027 General Election,” the former vice president said as he declared his bid for 2027.
It is worth noting that Mudavadi is not the first person to claim that President William Ruto will rule for 10 years.
On Sunday, August 27, Central Organization for Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli said the re-election of President William Ruto in 2027 is guaranteed.
Atwoli who spoke during a church service in Bungoma said it would be difficult to beat the Kenya Kwanza leader in the next General Election.
“We sidelined you but you managed to beat us even with the backing of President Uhuru Kenyatta. How will we beat you in 2027?” Atwoli posed.
