Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua told she is too big to vie for governor

Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has been told to shun her ambitions to contest for the Krinyaga gubernatorial seat and go for something bigger.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale argued that Martha Karua has had bigger challenges than governorship.

Khalwale added that Martha Karua should focus on national issues and stop degrading herself by being confined to the Mt Kenya region.

Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has been told to shun her ambitions to contest for the Krinyaga gubernatorial seat and go for something bigger.

“She is starting to change…When I see Martha starting to speak only about the people of Mt Kenya, she is changing, she must go back to the old Martha who was running for President,” Boni Khalwale said.

Khalwale challenged the Narc-Kenya leader to reconsider her decisions and choose to go for a bigger position like that of a presidential running mate.

“I want to request Martha to reconsider and go back to the original model that we all believe she is. I wouldn’t advise that Martha should be running for Governor of Kirinyaga,

“I would love Martha to jostle out to either become president or running mate. She is better to cut for that kind of person than the politics she is pushing,” Khalwale added.

Even as Khalwale proposes Martha Karua for the top job, the Narc-Kenya leader is leading in the most preferred running mate from the Mt Kenya region.

A survey released by Mizani Africa in October showed that Mt Kenya residents would vote for Martha Karua as the deputy President if the 2022 General Elections were held then.

However, Martha Karua has remained adamant that she will battle Governor Anne Waiguru in her second attempt to become Kirinyaga County’s boss.

“In as much as there are so many reports indicating that I should be proposed to be a presidential running mate, none has asked me to be his or her running mate. Second, my eye is focused on capturing the governor’s seat and that is my mission for now,” Karua said.
