Pastor who predicted President Ruto’s victory hosted at State House

by Enock Ndayala

In 2020, Zimbabwean Pastor Ian Ndlovu predicted that the then deputy president William Ruto would win the August 9, presidential election.

In his prophecy, Ndlovu of the Divine Kingdom Baptist Ministries said God will use a son of Kenya whose first name is Bill and the other name has initial “R” in a clear indication that he was referring to William Ruto.

The clergy seemed to caution the then President Uhuru Kenyatta against betraying Ruto by endorsing Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

“God says do not betray your Joshua. After he has helped you to secure your seat of power for all these years. God says it is this Joshua that has the grace from Him to continue from where you are going to leave. To continue what you started together several years ago,” the man of God prophecised.

Two years later, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukayi declared William Ruto the fifth President-elect.

In the results announced by Chebukati, William Ruto garnered 7.1 million votes defeating veteran politician Raila Odinga who garnered 6.9 million votes.

Soon after the new Head of State took the oath of office, First Lady Rachael Ruto hosted pastor Ndlovu at the State House on Wednesday, September 14.

Ndlovu and his wife Evangelist Angel Ndlovu paid President William Ruto’s wife a courtesy call just a day after his swearing-in.

“It was a pleasure hosting Ian Ndlovu and his wife Evangelist Angel Ndlovu who paid me a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi,” William Ruto’s wife said in a Tweet.

In his prophecies, the man of the cloth was irked by the acrimonious fallout of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and the second in command William Ruto over suspected 2022 succession politics.
