On the morning of Tuesday, October 31, Kenya’s President William Ruto officially received Their Majesties, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, in State House.

After several hours at State House, King Charles III left for Uhuru Gardens where he was scheduled to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.

As he was leaving State House, a Kenyan police officer tripped and fell down leaving the guest and his host President William Ruto startled.

In a video seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, the female soldier was seen walking hurriedly to open the car door for the crown couple to board.

However, the woman in uniform stripped and fell just a few steps from His Majesty, who was conversing with the Kenyan leader.

Seeing the soldier in need, her colleague hurried to assist, but she swiftly regained her footing and rejoined her colleagues unaided.

She later rushed to open the car door for Queen Camilla as she and her husband were on their way out.

It is worth noting that this is the first official visit by their Majesties to an African nation and the first Commonwealth member state since their coronation in May 2023.

During their four-day official state visit, King Charles III and Queen Camilla are expected to forge the ties between the two countries.

“His Majesty will take time during the visit to deepen his understanding of the wrongs suffered in this period by the people of Kenya,” read part of the statement from the United Kingdom Embassy dated October 11, 2023.
