Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has summoned Moses Kuria over his claims that he helped steal elections for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a press release on Saturday, March 26, the Wafula Chebukati-led commission said the outspoken lawmaker violated the constitution and election laws.

“The commission is seized of a report and material against yourself in regard to violation of Clause 6 a and 6 I of the Electoral Code of Conduct,

“You are hereby required to attend to attend the offices of the commission at Anniversary Towers, Commission Boardroom 6th Floor on Wednesday the 30th day of March 2022 at 10:00 o’clock,” Chebukati said.

Speaking during the United Democratic Alliance party delegates conference at the Kasarani Gymnasium Arena on March 15 sensational claimed that he was among leaders who helped steal previous elections.

“Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” Kuria stated.

Loosely translates to: “Some are saying the Mt Kenya vote will be divided. Hon Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…we are the people who guarded Uhuru’s votes, and we are the ones who stole the election.”

Kuria joins the Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege who was also summoned last month after claiming that Raila’s previous elections were rigged in favor of President Uhuru.

Raila Odinga’s allies have also called on IEBC to summon Deputy President William Ruto over his recent claims that President Uhuru’s administration is planning to rig the August elections in favor of Azimio la Umoja.
