Presidential hopeful to suspend the constitution if he wins August polls

by Amos Khaemba
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on Saturday, August 12, sensationally claimed that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition sponsored Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah’s 2022 presidential manifesto launch.

Presidential hopeful, George Wajackoyah has vowed to suspend the constitution if he wins the August 9 General Elections.

Speaking on KTN News on Monday, March 28, the Roots party presidential candidate said that the current constitution is punitive to the common man.

Wajackoyah added that he will also consider doing away with the controversial Political Parties Act, that was recently passed by the parliament.

“One of the things I going to do is to suspend the constitution and probably do away with the Political Parties Act,” Wajackoyah stated.

The controversial lawyer castigated the members of parliament for passing laws that are designed to benefit them and not the common Kenyan.

“It’s not( Political Parties Act) relevant to the needs of Kenyans, it is an act that has been tormented and tainted by majority mp who are afraid of losing their parties,..who are sing the whims of their political leaders.

“Look at MPs today, their work in parliament is to pass punitive legislation, looking at how they are going to remain in power,” He added.

Wajackoyah is not new to controversial pledges, he at one point promised to legalize marijuana and used the proceeds from the sale of bhang to clear Kenya’s debt.

While officially launching his presidential bid on February 13,  the Roots  Party presidential candidate said his first task as president will be to legalize Marijuana.

“Our main job would be growing Marijuana and selling it to foreign consumers. This would generate a lot of money which would in return be used for the benefit of the country,” Wajackoyah said.

At one point Wajackoyah pledged that his administration would introduce a death penalty to tame the appetite for corruption in the country.
