Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has officially joined the yet-to-be registered Azimio la Umoja grand coalition whose presidential aspirant is the ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Her Joining the Azimio comes barely a day after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria called on the Narc Kenya leader to “pick a side” as the August Presidential duel between William Ruto and Raila Odinga approaches.

Speaking on Wednesday, March 3, after meeting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for a highly guarded meeting at Serena Hotel in Nairobi, the ‘Iron lady’ said her outfit will not field a presidential candidate in this year’s elections.

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has officially joined the yet-to-be registered Azimio la Umoja grand coalition whose presidential aspirant is the ODM leader Raila Odinga.

While officially ending her working relationship with the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) coalition, Karua stated that the Narc Kenya party will rally behind the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

“From now onwards, Narc Kenya and I are supporting the Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga,” Karua said.

Karua had been part of OKA that brought together Wiper party’s Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU’s Gideon Moi who all joined the Azimio movement two weeks ago.

But Kuria, in a statement dated Tuesday, March 22, asked Karua who is a member of the Mount Kenya Unity Forum to join Ruto’s camp ahead of the August 9 General Election.

The outspoken legislator called on Karua to rally her support behind Deputy President William Ruto in a bid to end what he termed as “dynastic domination” and give hope to Kenyans.

“To my good friend and soul mate Martha Karua. We cannot make ourselves ideal humans from clay. We can only live with the ones God gave us, with all their imperfections and frailties. Pick a side and put on your Jersey,” Kuria said in his Facebook post.
