Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party presidential running mate Martha Karua has today stormed Kiambu County on her 5th day of Mt Kenya tour.

Karua who began her day with a rally in Limuru town called on Mt Kenya residents to vote for the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya saying the party stands a better chance to transform the country.

“Raila is a hard worker and he built roads as minister for roads. Raila Odinga and I haven’t been in government for over 10 years and we continue to fight for Kenyans.

I brought water sector reforms when I was the Minister for Water Resources. We shall work for you” Martha Karua said.

At the same time, the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party presidential running mate called on Kiambu voters to maintain peace during the campaign saying elections are not a matter of life and death.

“We are coming respectfully and humbly to ask you, the people of Kiambu, for your votes. Together with Raila Odinga and the Azimio la Umoja-One coalition, we shall liberate Kenya.

“Even if we have political differences, that’s your democratic right. Politics isn’t about fighting or noise.” Karua said.

Among other areas, she has successfully held rallies in Limuru, Kiambu town, Gatundu South, Thika, Juja, and Githurai areas.

Earlier former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo had condemned men who had planned to heckle Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition party presidential running mater saying the act is not only shameful but also a traditional political strategy that yields zero fruits.

It “Those trying to portray Tujibebe as a violent party by making t-shirts and heckling Martha Karua, shame on you. That is being primitive and an ancient way of doing politics, stop the nonsense,” Kabogo said on Facebook.

Martha Karua Mt Kenya tours seem to bear fruits as recent opinion polls indicate the 2022 presidential front runner Raila Odinga’s popularity has gone up since he named his running mate.

“In Nyeri County, Karua’s appointment as running mate seemed to have pleased more respondents than Gachagua’s nomination since Raila gains more popularity by 6.2% as Ruto drops by 3.6%.” Mizani Africa said in their findings.
