Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential candidate William Ruto and his brigade took their bottom-up gospel to Nyeri County.

On Saturday, May 21, thousands of Nyeri residents in yellow attire took to the streets of Nyeri County in what was dubbed Rigathi Gachagua homecoming rally after he was named the running mate to the DP Ruto.

The Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential candidate took to social media thanking the residents for showing up and supporting his Bottoms Up Economic Agenda.

“Karatina, Nyeri County thank you for backing our quest to uplift hustlers.” DP Ruto said on Facebook.

“It is Bottom-Up for the great people of Nyeri town. Our economic conversation; our decision to work with mama mboga, Boda Boda, beba beba; those who have been neglected, despised, and ignored by the trickle-down proponents, your time is now.” He added.

Among the leaders who accompanied the second in command include, Rigathi Gachagua (Running Mate), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Justin Muturi (Speaker of the National Assembly), Moses Kuria (Chama Cha Kazi), Alfred Mutua (Maendeleo Chap Chap), Mary Wamaua, Irungu Kang’ata, Rahab Mukami, Irungu Nyakera, Ndindi Nyoro, Alice Wahome, and Charles Njagua.

The 2022 presidential front runner used the rally to unveil Konyu ward MCA Eric Mwangi Wamumbu as his preferred Mathira parliamentary seat candidate.

“Now that Gachagua is heading to Nairobi, we have a young man here who fits the bill to take up the MP role. This young man is a hero. He is among the few MCAs who refused to be bribed and said they will not accept BBI. He is a man with principles and knows how to defend his people” DP Ruto said.

The rally by the Kenya Kwanza team come a few days after Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party presidential running mate made a tour of the county.

Both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio One Kenya are pulling all strings to ensure they win the hearts of the more than 5 million votes of Mt Kenya.
